Caregivers in Pulka/Warabe community, Gwoza LGA of Borno State, actively participated in Tom Brown processing activities aimed at supporting children identified with Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM).
As part of the initial stage of the process, caregivers carefully washed the grains thoroughly to remove dirt and impurities before proceeding to roasting and milling. This important step helps ensure that the Tom Brown produced is clean, safe, and nutritious for children.
The activity not only focused on food preparation but also served as a practical opportunity to reinforce good hygiene practices and safe food handling among caregivers. Through hands-on participation, caregivers strengthened their knowledge on how to prepare nutritious complementary food using locally available ingredients.
By promoting community participation and building the capacity of caregivers, Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) continues to support community-based nutrition interventions that improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable children and families.

Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening local solutions to address child malnutrition and promote healthier futures for children in conflict-affected communities.
