The LPF Protection Team successfully conducted a three-day safety audit, the sessions started on the 3rd to 5th of November, 2025, with community members — including men, women, adolescent girls and boys, as well as persons with disabilities across NRC and Kuya IDP Camps in Monguno LGA, Borno State.
The exercise aimed to identify emerging protection concerns within the camps and assess safety risks associated with LPF health facilities, particularly focusing on the most affected and vulnerable groups.

The key objectives of the safety audit were to:
-
Identify safety risks and protection concerns within the camps.
-
Assess the effectiveness of current safety measures implemented under the LPF Health Project.
-
Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance overall safety for beneficiaries.

Findings from the exercise will guide LPF’s ongoing interventions to make service delivery environments safer, more inclusive, and responsive to community needs. The recommendations will also support coordination with camp management and humanitarian partners to ensure joint follow-up actions.
Community members expressed deep appreciation for LPF’s continued presence and impact within the camps. Many described the LPF health facility as a “lifesaving center” that provides timely and compassionate care. They also commended the protection team for its role in upholding privacy, promoting respect, and fostering a safer environment for individuals and families.
