As part of ongoing efforts to ensure quality implementation and accountability, UNICEF conducted a two-day monitoring visit to project implementation sites in Dikwa Local Government Area (LGA), Borno State, under the UNICEF-funded Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) Project being implemented by Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF).
The monitoring mission focused on assessing the progress, effectiveness, and quality of ongoing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Nutrition interventions designed to address the urgent needs of vulnerable children and families affected by humanitarian challenges in the area.
During the visit, UNICEF representatives observed project activities, engaged directly with beneficiaries and community members, and reviewed implementation processes to ensure services are being delivered according to established standards. The team also assessed the reach and impact of interventions aimed at improving access to safe water, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion services, and life-saving nutrition support.

In addition to the monitoring activities, UNICEF’s Information and Communication Team documented project implementation across various sites. Through interviews, photographs, and beneficiary interactions, the team captured success stories and project highlights that demonstrate the positive changes being achieved through the integrated WASH and Nutrition response.
The documentation exercise provided an opportunity to amplify the voices of beneficiaries and showcase the impact of humanitarian assistance on the lives of children, women, and families in Dikwa LGA. It also contributed to identifying lessons learned and opportunities for strengthening future interventions.

The monitoring visit underscores the shared commitment of UNICEF and Lindii Peace Foundation to delivering high-quality, accountable, and impactful humanitarian services. Through continuous monitoring, learning, and community engagement, the partnership aims to ensure that vulnerable populations receive timely and effective support that improves their health, well-being, and resilience.
LPF remains committed to working closely with UNICEF, local authorities, and communities to provide life-saving assistance and promote sustainable improvements in nutrition, health, and WASH outcomes across affected communities in Borno State.
