As the world commemorates the 2025 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) stands in solidarity with women and girls everywhere who face harassment, intimidation, and abuse in digital spaces.
Online violence is one of the fastest-growing forms of gender-based abuse. It includes cyberbullying, threats, stalking, the misuse of personal information, and other harmful behaviors that silence women’s voices and limit their participation in education, livelihoods, and public life.

At LPF, we believe technology must uplift, not harm. In communities already affected by conflict, especial in the North East, Nigeria, safe access to digital spaces can open doors to learning, support, and opportunities. That is why online safety is not just a digital issue; it is a protection issue, a rights issue, and a community issue.
Throughout this year’s campaign, LPF reaffirms its commitment to:
- Increasing awareness of online violence and its impact
- Strengthening digital safety skills for women and girls
- Providing support and guidance to survivors of online abuse
- Collaborating with partners and stakeholders to promote safer digital environments
- Advocating for stronger reporting systems and accountability on digital platforms

What We Can All Do
Each of us has a role. By speaking up, reporting harmful content, supporting victims, and modeling respectful online behavior, we help build safer spaces for women and girls.
Online abuse is real abuse. Together, we can disrupt harmful norms, promote digital wellbeing, and ensure that women and girls can learn, connect, and thrive safely online.
Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF)
