In the early hours of Monday, 17 November 2025, armed men abducted 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State. Reports indicate that the vice principal was killed during the attack and the principal was taken alongside the students. Just days later, on Friday, 21 November 2025, another group of armed men kidnapped 303 students and 12 teachers from St. Mary’s School in Papiri, Agwara LGA, Niger State. On 23 November 2025, 12 girls were also abducted on their way back from a farm in Askira/Uba LGA, Borno State.
These incidents reflect a deeply troubling pattern of repeated attacks on schools; a pattern that has persisted since the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls in 2014. We condemn these acts of violence that continue to rob children of their right to safety, education, and a secure future.

LPF strongly condemns abduction and killings
The continued targeting of educational institutions and farming communities is not only an attack on individuals but an assault on the stability and well-being of entire communities.
The Lindii Peace Foundation remains committed to protecting vulnerable populations across Nigeria. We stand firmly with the affected families, schools, communities, and state authorities during this painful time. We call for the immediate and unconditional release of all abducted students, teachers, and farmers.
We also urge the federal government and security agencies to strengthen and sustain measures that ensure schools are adequately protected. Every child deserves a safe environment to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams without fear.
LPF reiterates its commitment to supporting communities affected by insecurity. We will continue working with partners to promote peacebuilding, trauma support, access to education, health and overall community resilience.
At LPF, our thoughts and solidarity remain with all families awaiting the safe return of their loved ones.
